Another year, another try to be Productive / Well-organized / Fit

Like many of us, I want to start the year in a productive way, which means trying to achieve the goals I set for myself before the end of last year, and some habits I want to incorporate into my life. Some of them are involved with my personal life, my career, and others with my health.

  1. 🏋️‍♀️ Work out at least 5 times per week: An ambitious goal for someone who didn't work out in his/her entire life, but for somebody who exercises regularly, it can be handled easily. It's not imperative to join a gym, just can go for a run and do some push-ups.
  2. Study a new language (actually, resume it 🤭): Last year, I stopped studying French due to my job assignments. So I decided, this is the year when I’ll master french (or at least be able to talk fluently with somebody else 😅). I planned to achieve it by listening every day to a french news podcast, exercising through Duolingo apart from the classes I am currently enrolled in.
  3. Learn a new programming language/framework 👨‍💻: As I am a software developer, specializing in front-end right now. I decided to change my path to iOS development, then, I bought a course in Udemy to start my new journey. Wish me luck!!
  4. Working on my personal branding. Post more commits on my GitHub timeline, contributing to open-source projects or developing a spectacular web page or app.
  5. Build a second income stream 🤑: I read numerous posts about getting multiple income streams to become wealthy. I believe it is time to start building one apart from my 9–6 job. I’m just figuring this out, so perhaps trying to post more often would be a start.
  6. 📚 Read more: reviewing the number of books I've read the last year, I feel ashamed of myself. I know I can't read a book per week, but 1 or 2 books per month (of course depending on the number of pages) could be achievable.

After reading these 6 points you may take 1 or 2 from the list and I know you are going to start reading more or doing some workout for 1 week, 2 weeks… even a month, but after that, the motivation will be lost.

A way to help your mind to avoid this demotivation is to give satisfaction every week by seeing what have you completed so far. You can write it down on a piece of paper and make it visible, put it somewhere you can easily see the most part of the day, and feel the need to cross it out as completed. Or download an app in the App Store/Play Store to track your habits and goals. I used Strides for a while, never complained about it.

Goals are different from each other, but the most important goal/habit I believed everyone should follow is “give your best today and try to be better than yesterday”.
